- (in bullets point) We are seeking a skilled ORV Mechanic to support vehicle inventory reduction efforts through refurbishment, repair, and scrap processing of off-road vehicles (ATVs/UTVs/snowmobiles).
This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate inventory, preparing vehicles for resale or disposal, and supporting daily engineering facility operations. Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical repairs, inspections, and refurbishment of off-road vehicles Diagnose issues and replace major components (engines, drivetrains, frames, electrical systems) Prepare vehicles for sale, including service, updates, and quality checks Process vehicles for scrap (fluid draining, battery removal, teardown) Maintain accurate inventory records using desktop systems and tablets Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move vehicles/components Support inventory organization across storage areas (racking, mezzanines, yard storage) Assist with vehicle sale processing and documentation Support track/trail maintenance and general facility operations Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards Qualifications
- Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years hands-on mechanic/technician experience (powersports, automotive, or heavy equipment) Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in diagnostics and major component repair Ability to safely operate forklifts or willingness to become certified Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory tracking Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (sorting, tracking, basic data use) Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to lift and work with heavy components in a shop environment Preferred Qualifications 2-year technical degree (PowerSports, Automotive, Diesel, or related field) Powersports/ORV experience (ATV, UTV, snowmobile) Experience with inventory management or warehouse operations Familiarity with diagnostic tools and data acquisition systems (scan tools, CAN systems) Fabrication and welding experience Skid loader or heavy equipment operation experience Experience with teardown, refurbishment, or scrap/salvage processes Skills•Strong mechanical aptitude and hands on experience (Powersports dealer technician or automotive mechanic could be transferable) Comfortable using a computer and proficient in Microsoft Excel Self-motivated and able to work independently Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities at once Team player Problem-solver who takes ownership and drives results
