GENERAL SUMMARY
The Automotive Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and light repair services in a fast-paced off-road and performance automotive environment. This position supports overall shop operations by completing preventative maintenance services accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality and safety standards. The Automotive Lube Technician works closely with Service Advisors, Technicians, and Shop Leadership to ensure customer vehicles are properly maintained while contributing to a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, mechanical aptitude, and a customer-focused mindset.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Vehicle Maintenance & Service Operations Perform routine vehicle maintenance including: Oil and filter changes Fluid inspections and refills Wiper replacement Bulb and light replacement Tire inspections Basic preventative maintenance services Perform vehicle inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs Assist with alignments and basic suspension inspections Diagnose basic vehicle issues and communicate findings to senior technicians or service advisors Ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently according to company standards Inspection & Repair Support Inspect and test vehicles for required adjustments or service recommendations Assist technicians with repairs and shop tasks as needed Support vehicle diagnostics and repair processes Assist with motor vehicle inspections when required Provide labor and time estimates to Service Advisors as requested Customer Service & Communication Evaluate customer vehicle needs with professionalism and urgency Maintain strong knowledge of company products, services, and shop capabilities Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and team members regarding repair status and recommendations Support a positive customer experience through quality workmanship and professionalism Shop Organization & Safety Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow OSHA regulations, shop safety procedures, and PPE requirements Properly maintain tools, equipment, and workstations Assist with shop upkeep and cleanliness throughout the workday Follow all attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping standards
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred Prior automotive shop or lube technician experience preferred Experience in automotive maintenance, off-road, or performance vehicle environments is a plus Valid driver's license preferred Skills & Attributes Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and customer service skills Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Technical Skills Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures Ability to safely use automotive tools and shop equipment Ability to perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks Familiarity with automotive fluids, filters, and maintenance schedules preferred Requirements Must be able to provide personal hand tools required for the position Ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime as needed Ability to follow all company safety and operational procedures Must maintain professional conduct and appearance Willingness to learn and support team operations
WORKING CONDITIONS
Fast-paced automotive repair and off-road performance shop environment Frequent exposure to vehicle noise, chemicals, oils, grease, and moving equipment Work performed indoors with occasional outdoor vehicle movement or inspections Frequent interaction with technicians, service staff, and customers
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching Ability to work with hands above head level for extended periods Frequent repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PPE
