Job Description

Powersports Technician Job Summary The Powersports Technician performs mechanical and electrical repairs, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and vehicle setup to ensure customer vehicles operate safely and efficiently. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of powersports systems and components. Key Responsibilities Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, and performance issues. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire replacement, brake service, and tune-ups. Repair engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering components, and drivetrains. Diagnose and repair electrical systems using diagnostic tools and software. Install accessories, upgrades, and aftermarket equipment. Assemble and prepare new vehicles for sale and delivery. Test vehicles after repairs to verify proper operation. Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation. Follow manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and safety standards. Keep work areas clean and organized. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working on motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, watercraft, or similar vehicles. Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and computerized diagnostics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license (motorcycle endorsement may be preferred). Preferred Qualifications Technical school certification in motorcycle or powersports technology. Manufacturer certifications (e.g., from major powersports brands). Previous dealership or repair shop experience. Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment.
