Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and tire rotations to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Specialize in diesel engine repair and auto body repairs when necessary to restore vehicles to factory standards. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and installations while adhering to safety protocols. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical and mechanical problems. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and recommending maintenance plans that enhance vehicle longevity. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with dealership or automotive repair shop background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brakes, and auto electrical systems. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and schematics interpretation. Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus; welding skills are desirable but not mandatory. Ability to work efficiently using hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment. Knowledge of automotive estimating procedures and auto body repair processes is advantageous.
