Schedule Monday-Friday 9am-6pm | NO Weekends Compensation $23-27/Hour + bonus opportunities (Dependent on experience) Parts & Service Clerk - Job Duties & Expectations The Parts & Service Clerk supports the Service, Parts, and Detail Departments by managing inventory, ordering parts, assisting technicians, and ensuring smooth operational workflow. This role also oversees Detail and Inventory Control, ensuring all vehicles are cleaned, inspected, stickered, and prepared for sale and online listing. This position is essential to maintaining department efficiency, technician productivity, and dealership presentation standards. Parts Management Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts and supplies. Maintain accurate inventory levels and reorder parts as directed. Receive, prepare and issue parts for service work to minimize technician downtime. Reconcile parts invoices and ensure documentation accuracy. Identify competitive suppliers and monitor pricing trends. Track core returns and ensure timely core credit processing. Track all part returns Service Department Support Assist Service Advisors and Technicians with parts sourcing and workflow coordination. Document parts requests, returns, and transfers in the DMS. Support timely completion of work orders, repair orders, and related paperwork. Follow up on pending orders to prevent delays in repairs. Detail & Inventory Control Oversight Oversee the Detail Department to ensure all vehicles meet clean, polished, and lot‑ready standards. Manage Inventory Control to ensure vehicles are properly inspected, stickered, and prepared for sales and website listing. Maintain consistency and quality for all vehicle presentations. Coordinate with Service, Sales, and Recon to track vehicle readiness. Customer Interaction Assist customers picking up parts or inquiring about service‑related needs. Answer phone calls and emails regarding parts availability, orders, and scheduling. Provide basic service information, referring complex inquiries to the Service Advisor or Manager. Operational Support & Compliance Follow all dealership policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in Parts, Service, and Detail areas. Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation as needed. Support departmental initiatives and special projects assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of automotive parts inventory and acquisition processes. Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills. Ability to work with technicians, service advisors, and customers professionally. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in shop/detail environments safely. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Preferred:
Experience in automotive parts, service, detail, or inventory management; DMS familiarity. AUTHORITY LEVELS
Authorized to order parts as directed by the Service Manager. Oversees Detail and Inventory Control functions. Responsible for managing assigned budget items as set by ownership. KEY PRIORITY ASSIGNMENTS
Develop, maintain, and execute consistent parts and inventory processes that support technician productivity, cost control, and dealership presentation standards. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active (sitting, standing, walking) throughout the day.
