This position is primarily outdoor work and requires someone comfortable working in varying weather conditions year-round. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical ability, experience with trailer repair and maintenance, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Welding experience is preferred but not required. Responsibilities Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on semi-trailers and related equipment Maintain fleet readiness and assist with preventative maintenance programs Repair and replace: Brakes Lights Tires/Wheels Suspension components Air systems Electrical systems Landing gear Doors, floors, and structural components Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers remain road-ready and compliant Perform basic fabrication and repair work as needed Operate forklifts and shop equipment safely Maintain organized service records and communicate repair needs clearly Keep work areas clean and follow all safety procedures Qualifications Experience working on semi-trailers, heavy equipment, diesel equipment, or similar mechanical systems preferred Welding and fabrication experience preferred but not required Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical trailer issues Familiarity with air brake systems and DOT standards Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment Ability to work outdoors full-time in various weather conditions Ability to lift heavy components and perform physical labor safely Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills Valid driver's license preferred Work Environment Primarily outdoor work Fast-paced fleet and repair environment Hands-on mechanical work daily Opportunity for overtime depending on workload Why Join Fleetco?
