$45000-60000 About Us Custom Concepts and Automotive is a high-volume, customer-first automotive service center known for accurate diagnostics, transparent communication, and quality repairs. The Role We're seeking a strong Diagnostician to lead complex fault-finding, root-cause analysis, and drivability troubleshooting across modern vehicles. You'll own the diagnostic process from intake to verified fix, collaborating closely with service advisors and techs to deliver fast, correct outcomes. What You'll Do Perform advanced diagnostics on engine management, electrical, CAN/bus, ADAS, emissions, and drivability concerns. Use OEM and advanced aftermarket scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, smoke machines, and service information systems to pinpoint root causes. Build accurate test plans, document findings, and communicate clearly with advisors and customers. Program, code, and initialize control modules where required (OEM portals/J2534). Verify repairs with data-driven validation and road tests; prevent comebacks with thorough post-repair checks. Mentor techs on testing methodology, scope usage, and diagnostic strategy. Maintain a clean, safe bay and uphold shop QA standards. What You'll Bring 5+ years of hands-on diagnostic experience in an automotive setting (independent shop or dealership). Strong grasp of electricity/electronics, signal analysis, and network diagnostics. Proficiency with OEM scan suites and modern tools (e.g., Autel, Bosch, Snap-on, PicoScope or equivalent). Experience with J2534 programming, immobilizer procedures, and software updates. Ability to read wiring diagrams and service info (OE and aftermarket) and build logical test sequences. Clear communication, customer empathy, and a teamwork mindset. Valid driver's license with clean record. Nice to Have ASE Master + L1 (or equivalent manufacturer master certs). ADAS calibration experience and equipment familiarity. EV/Hybrid high-voltage safety training and fault isolation experience. European brand experience (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VW/Audi), or Asian diagnostics depth (Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Subaru).
