Hiring Immediately! Overtime Eligible Annual boot allowance Earn quarterly safety bonus Paid training Stable industry, year-round employment Weekly pay! ​​ Waste Connections has an opening for a Diesel Mechanic Helper to join our GROWING team at our site in Monroe, NC.
Schedule:
Monday
  • Friday/ 50 to 55 hours per week / Saturday's as needed.
As a key member of our automotive maintenance team, your work as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice will focus on the overall maintenance of equipment used by our company in the transportation and handling of vehicles. This will involve, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
The minimum responsibilities are:
Assists experienced mechanics with vehicle maintenance and repairs, learning the trade under supervision. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trucks and equipment Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and lubrication Assist with brakes inspections, fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other key components Identify potential issues and report necessary repairs to the lead mechanic Maintain accurate service records and reports Keep work areas clean and organized in compliance with safety regulations Assist with minor repairs and support the mechanic team as needed Travel to other districts to assist with PMs and continue training.

Mechanical aptitude, a drive to learn and grow with a team. Ability to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignments Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Welding/fabrication experience, a major plus Reliable transportation to travel between districts as needed.
