Fleet Services Emergency Vehicle Mechanic / Trainer Your Career, Your Community Join Team Salisbury as a Fleet Services Emergency Vehicle Mechanic / Trainer specializing in emergency vehicles. We are seeking motivated candidates whose work is performed with considerable independence in accordance with specific instructions defined procedures and schedules. Main duties for this position include but are not limited to inspections, diagnoses and repair of Fire response vehicles and general-purpose vehicles, including ladder trucks, engine trucks, hazardous material trucks, technical rescue vehicles and all related support and firefighting apparatus. Maintains and repairs water hydraulics, including water pumps, valves, governors and relief valve systems. Knowledgeable in Fire apparatus and automotive repair/maintenance safety principles and practices including the use of air powered equipment, lifts and hoists. Installs, troubleshoots and maintains electronic equipment, audio and video communications systems and satellite tracking systems, modifies, welds and fabricates parts such as equipment and tool mounts, brackets and shelving. Also prepares apparatus for the annual National Fire Protections Association Certification Inspection of pumps and aerial ladder trucks. Coordinate and schedule warranty repairs, researches parts manuals and vendor catalogs to determine parts needed, helps determine the most cost-effective and efficient methods to complete repairs. Makes emergency service calls for disabled vehicles and equipment at work sites or on the road as needed. Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent required and at least 4 years' experience in Emergency Vehicle repair/maintenance work or technical training Must have a valid NC Driver's License and good driving record Possession of or ability to obtain a CDL with passenger and tanker endorsements, OBD II, state inspection. Knowledge of the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Automotive fire apparatus design and performance standards. Medium/Heavy Truck ASE certifications within twelve months of employment preferred Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Level 1 within twenty-four months of employment preferred
