Service Writer:

Fleet & Performance Sunrise Express — Grand Island, NE The Role We are looking for a sharp, energetic "hub" to support two distinct operations under one roof. As our Service Writer, you are the bridge between the equipment, the technicians, and the billing. You will balance the high-stakes world of heavy-duty semi-truck maintenance for Sunrise Express. If you are organized, have a passion for anything with an engine, and love a fast-paced environment where you move from diesel fleet specs to custom performance builds, this is the role for you.

What You'll Actually Do Manage Work Orders:

Open repair orders for both heavy trucks and performance cars; track progress from start to finish to ensure every project stays on schedule. Master the

Warranty & Billing Process:

Handle the "detective work" of warranty validation for the fleet and ensure custom performance parts and labor are invoiced accurately for Sunrise Express customers.

Shop Logistics:

Log parts used, estimate repair times, and help schedule our technicians to keep the commercial fleet moving while giving custom builds the attention they deserve.

Data Integrity:

Maintain computerized repair records and develop accurate cost estimates for everything from routine PMs to high-end performance upgrades.

Time & Material Tracking:

Ensure every minute of labor and every specialized performance component is accounted for on the final bill.

What We're Looking For The Basics:

You're dependable, high-energy, and can switch gears quickly between commercial fleet needs and enthusiast-level automotive requests.

Tech Skills:

Strong computer skills and high attention to detail—missing a single code can stall a warranty claim or a custom build.

Mechanical Interest:

You have a solid grasp of mechanical terms. Whether it's a DD15 engine or a high-performance crate engine, you speak the language. We are willing to train the right candidate who has the passion and the "smarts."

Customer Service:

You can communicate clearly with everyone from long-haul drivers and vendors to performance car owners who expect a high level of expertise.

You'll be right in the middle of the action, supporting a heavy truck fleet.
