Job Description

Job Summary A Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Technician inspects, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs commercial vehicles like tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and buses. They are responsible for keeping fleets safe and compliant, working extensively with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and complex computerized diagnostics.
Duties Diagnostics:
Use advanced computer-based diagnostic software and multimeters to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and emission system failures.
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, fluid flushes, and DOT-mandated safety and compliance inspections.
Mechanical Repairs:
Disassemble, repair, and overhaul heavy components such as internal combustion engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and steering mechanisms.
Air Brakes & Suspension:
Inspect, adjust, or completely replace brake linings, wheel bearings, and suspension or steering parts.
Documentation:
Accurately log all maintenance performed, parts used, and repair times in fleet management software
Experience:
Typically 2-5+ years of hands-on experience working in heavy-duty commercial, industrial, or dealership environments.
Preferred Licensing:
A valid driver's license is required, with a generally preferred or mandatory for test-driving and road-service calls.
Physical Stamina:
The ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions or sometimes cramped positions. Typically shop-based at dealerships, logistics centers, or municipal garages, but may involve roadside emergency service calls. Often requires working with specialized hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments. Join us in providing exceptional service to our customers!
