Job Summary:
Automotive Technicians are responsible for diagnosing problems with vehicles, performing maintenance, and repairs on our client's cars that come in for service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning; Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards; Performs maintenance procedure, including oil changes, fluid level checks, tire rotations, etc.; Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment; Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs; Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications; Suggest other services or repairs as necessary; Performs test drives as needed; State-regulated vehicle inspections; Communicates directly with the Service Advisor and/or Service Dispatcher so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed; Performs other related duties consistent with the role; this does not preclude management from assigning additional, though unrelated, duties. Requirements Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques; Effective problem-solving skills are crucial for diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues; Ability to work in a team environment efficiently; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent time management skills; Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Required Education / Experience /
Certifications:
Valid Driving License and acceptable Driving Record History; Acceptable Background Record; Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques; Current ASE certification, or ability to attain certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects like engines, transmissions, tires, parts, etc. (up to 50 pounds); Fine motor skills, such as manipulating small parts, using hand tools, and working with precision; Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb to access various parts of a vehicle; Visual acuity for identifying problems, reading gauges, and working with small parts; Extended periods of standing, walking, and reaching.
