Job DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities:

Sample preparation and analysis following published test methods and company/client SOPs.

Specifically These Responsibilities Are To:

Organize test samples including seat belts, child restraint systems, transit test packages & consumer goods such as DIY items, paper goods and plastic productsPrepare test specimens from the samples submitted using hand tools and power toolsPerform both destructive and non-destructive physical testing on the samplesRecord test results in the format specified which includes handwritten datasheets, computer printouts and electronic data entryRoutine operation, maintenance, and validation of laboratory equipment and instrumentsAssist in the investigation of, response to, and follow-up of client inquiries and complaintsMay assist in limited internal and external technical support to marketing, sales, customer services, and clients regarding test, report, and other technical informationCoordinate with other laboratory technicians and/or assistants on sample receiving, logging, pretreatment, preparation, testing and other tasksConduct multiple projects within tight deadlinesOther projects and tasks assigned by company and supervisors

QualificationsEducation:

BS in science or engineering and some laboratory experience preferred

Skills/Competencies:

Must be able to meet the following performance requirements:

Familiarity with hand tools and power toolsAbility to lift and move sample boxes up to 25 lbsFamiliarity with Laboratory Quality and Operations systemsWindows-based computer programs including MS Word, and ExcelEffective understanding, written and verbal skills May work with limited guidance, independently or as part of a team.

Takes initiative to learn and grow. Able to learn and apply new technologies and instrumentsForklift certification desirablePay Range is $21.00-$26.00/ hourAdditional InformationCompensationThe expected salary range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
