Company Overview Mobile Technical Training is a dynamic technical school dedicated to providing comprehensive courses in automotive customization and 12-volt installation. We focus on preparing students for successful careers in the aftermarket automotive industry through hands-on training and expert instruction. Job Overview
  • This position will be opening late summer / early fall / We are seeking a passionate and experienced 12 Volt Technician to serve as a trainer, instructor, teacher, and manager within our automotive training program.
This role involves leading educational sessions, mentoring students, and ensuring they gain practical skills in 12-volt electrical systems, automotive security, remote starters, audio systems, lighting, automotive diagnostics, and related areas. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automotive repair, dealership experience, and a desire to inspire the next generation of automotive technicians. Duties Develop and deliver engaging training modules on 12-volt electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), schematics, and diagnostics Mentor students through hands-on projects involving vehicle electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and vehicle maintenance Manage classroom activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed during practical exercises with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment Evaluate student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive repair techniques, including diesel engine repair, GM vehicles, wheel alignment, and automotive electrical systems Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and incorporate the latest automotive technology trends Oversee the maintenance of training equipment and tools to ensure a safe learning environment Qualifications Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive aftermarket installations, repair and diagnostics Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, powertrain components, transmissions, and vehicle maintenance Hands-on experience with audio, security, remote starter installations. Mechanical aptitude combined with proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Excellent communication skills with a passion for teaching and mentoring students of diverse backgrounds Ability to manage classroom activities effectively while maintaining a positive learning environment Valid certifications or licenses related to automotive service are preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged Must have experience in automotive electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics. Using industry tools. Must have a background installing and troubleshooting car audio, mobile video, alarms, remote starter installation, some knowledge of building custom enclosures, using industry tools (DMM, Power Probe), taking cars apart, troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of electrical components and in depth understanding of electrical laws, such Ohm's Law, Relay Applications, etc. Must have a professional appearance and proper communication skills.
