The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company's portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross' Nevada operations. The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area. Job Description Perform lubrication tasks, inspections, and basic condition monitoring support to help ensure equipment reliability and prevent premature component failure, while aligning daily activities with Kinross' values. Job Responsibilities Operate basic support equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts. Must be capable of doing a thorough inspection on equipment. Must be able to drain oils, and change filters. Perform basic lubrication tasks including greasing, oil top-ups, and filter changes on motors, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes. Assist in executing lubrication routes as assigned. Identify problems with magnetic plugs. Identify and report basic equipment issues such as leaks, contamination, abnormal noise, or overheating. Assist with oil sampling activities following established procedures. Perform minor mechanical repairs. Execute assigned work orders and record basic findings in systems such as JD Edwards. Follow proper lubricant storage, labeling, and handling practices. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. Works collaboratively with team members and supports assigned tasks. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance. Works without risk or harm to self and others. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by state agency, or must be able to pass driver competency course and exam. Punctuality and regular attendance required. Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor. Education and Experience General understanding of mining, process plant, and maintenance operations. Basic knowledge of process plant operations (crushing, grinding, flotation, etc.) is preferred. Willingness to learn lubrication and condition monitoring practices. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. Ability to work independently. Demonstrates strong organizational and writing skills. Must have basic mechanical skills. Basic understanding of lubrication practices (greasing, oil handling, contamination awareness). 0-2 years of maintenance or related experience preferred. Requires valid driver's license. Must be able to meet "Authorized User" requirements for High Risk Activities, including but not limited to Fall Protection and Confined Space, as required by job duties, departments and Round Mountain Gold Corporation's Permit to Work policies.
