About Joy Engineering has been serving Northern Nevada since 1980, providing excavation, underground utilities, aggregate production, and aggregate hauling services. We are committed to delivering quality work while maintaining a safe and professional environment for our employees. Job Summary Joy Engineering is currently hiring a Heavy Equipment Lube Technician / Shop Assistant to support the maintenance team with preventative maintenance, lubrication, fueling, inspections, and general service work on heavy construction equipment and trucks throughout Northern Nevada. This position is ideal for someone with 2 to 3 years of experience around heavy equipment who is looking to continue growing within the construction and equipment maintenance industry. Work will primarily be based out of our shop and active job sites in Northern Nevada. Responsibilities Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks Grease, fuel, fluid-check, and service construction equipment Assist mechanics with repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks Maintain service logs and inspection documentation Perform daily equipment walkarounds and report maintenance or safety concerns Keep shop, service truck, and work areas clean and organized Safely operate pickups, service trucks, and support equipment Assist with parts runs, tool organization, and general shop support Follow company safety procedures and job site requirements Work safely and cooperatively with mechanics, operators, and field crews Qualifications 2 to 3 years of experience working around heavy equipment, trucks, or construction machinery (preferred) Basic understanding of equipment lubrication and preventative maintenance Experience greasing and servicing excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks, or similar equipment preferred Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to lift tools, hoses, fluids, and parts as needed Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions OSHA 10 certification preferred Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork
