Overview (Class B License Preferred-Not Required) Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment and Truck Road Mechanic, where you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery and commercial vehicles. This vital role ensures the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of equipment used across construction sites, farms, industrial facilities, and transportation routes. Your expertise will keep operations running smoothly by diagnosing issues, executing repairs, and performing preventative maintenance on diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and more. Duties Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and electrical components to ensure optimal functioning. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific operational requirements. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving alignment, wheel service (including tire replacement), brake repair, and vehicle maintenance to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals for accurate diagnostics and repairs. Assist in the assembly or disassembly of heavy equipment components during major repairs or upgrades. Support heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols; provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and suspension systems. Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, diagnostic equipment and service software; ability to perform precise alignments and tire services. Ability to lift heavy components safely; excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills. Valid certifications in automotive diagnostics or heavy equipment repair are advantageous; familiarity with safety standards related to air brake systems and hydraulics is required. Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
