Job Description

J&N Furniture Services is currently seeking a full-time Furniture Repair Technician (1099 Contractor) to join our growing team. This is a hands-on skilled trade position involving in-home furniture repairs throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Some routes may occasionally extend into the boroughs depending on business needs.
What You'll Do:
Diagnose and repair furniture in customers' homes Repair power recliners and electrical furniture components Perform wood touch-ups and repairs Repair and rebuild sofa, chair, and recliner frames Complete upholstery repairs and component replacements Take before and after photos and submit service reports
Requirements:
Reliable vehicle and valid auto insurance (required) Valid driver's license Basic knowledge of tools and repairs Comfortable driving throughout Long Island Smartphone with camera and email capability Availability 4-5 days per week (at least one weekend day preferred)
Experience Preferred:
Furniture repair Wood repair and touch-up Upholstery Frame repair Sewing General handyman, carpenter, or technician experience
Training:
Paid training provided. Training consists of shadowing an experienced technician for approximately 4 weeks or longer depending on experience level. The right candidate will be trained to perform repairs independently and will receive their own routes upon successful completion.
Compensation:
Pay per completed stop Gas allowance provided Tips from customers Most technicians earn $1,000+ per week Average routes include 8-10 stops per day The more stops completed, the more you earn
Materials:
Most repair materials supplied or reimbursed Technicians provide their own basic tools
Pay:
$25-$35+ per hour equivalent based on productivity
