Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Automotive Technician with experience working on Audi, VW, Porsche to join our dynamic service team. This pivotal role involves overseeing complex vehicle repairs, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring the highest standards of automotive service are maintained. The ideal candidate will possess extensive dealership experience, advanced diagnostic skills, and a comprehensive understanding of automotive electrical systems, powertrains, transmissions, and vehicle maintenance. As a leader in our service department, you will drive technical excellence, uphold safety standards, and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction through expert repairs and innovative solutions. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate automotive repair operations, ensuring timely and accurate diagnostics and repairs across a variety of vehicle makes and models. Supervise and mentor technicians, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and technical mastery. Perform complex diagnostics utilizing schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology to identify issues efficiently. Conduct repairs on powertrain components, transmissions, electrical systems, diesel engines, and perform wheel alignments to manufacturer specifications. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service equipment to execute repairs with precision. Review repair procedures using detailed schematics and technical manuals; ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards. Assist in auto estimating processes by accurately assessing repair needs and communicating findings clearly to customers. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed; support warranty claims and ensure adherence to dealership policies. Stay current with industry advancements including ADAS calibration techniques, new diagnostic software, and evolving automotive technologies. Promote a customer-focused approach by providing transparent communication regarding repair processes and timelines. Qualifications Proven dealership experience as an automotive technician or service technician working with Audi, VW, Porsche with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, mechanical components, powertrains, transmissions, and diesel engine repair. Proficiency in reading schematics, automotive diagnostics software, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues. Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, wheel alignment equipment, welding tools, and general maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by familiarity with auto estimating software; ability to accurately assess repair costs. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to mentor others effectively within a fast-paced environment. Valid technician certification(s) from recognized industry organizations; ASE certification preferred.
