Service Manager Job Summary The Service Writer is responsible for coordinating and managing service-related processes for customer and new bus operations while delivering exceptional customer service. This role serves as a key point of contact between customers, service technicians, and internal departments to ensure repairs, inspections, and service requests are completed accurately and efficiently. The Service Writer must maintain strong communication, uphold a professional image, and ensure customers remain informed throughout the service process. This position requires a highly motivated and self-driven individual with a passion for the transportation and bus industry. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and possess the ability to adapt to complex situations with professionalism and a positive attitude. Qualifications
  • Associate's degree (AA) in Business or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience in the transportation, bus, or related service industry required.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and time management skills.
  • Experience with customer service, scheduling, and service coordination preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong initiative and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, coordinate, and manage all service-related processes for customer buses and new bus deliveries.
  • Gather all necessary information to prepare and provide accurate quotes and service estimates for customers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
  • Perform vehicle inspections, including checking incoming and outgoing buses for damage or service concerns.
  • Coordinate and oversee new bus check-in procedures to ensure compliance with company processes and standards.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers regarding service updates, repair status, and completion timelines.
  • Provide daily customer updates to ensure excellent communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with shop personnel to monitor repair progress and proactively identify potential delays.
  • Order parts for technicians and shop personnel while tracking orders and ensuring timely availability.
  • Open, manage, and close repair orders (ROs) accurately and efficiently.
  • Process repair orders promptly as customers arrive to reduce turnaround times and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Follow company procedures and assist with documenting, developing, and improving internal processes and operational standards.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining self-auditing procedures to ensure compliance with company expectations and service standards.
  • Perform duties in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.

  • Experience with repair order systems or service management software
  • Knowledge of bus, transportation, or fleet maintenance operations
  • Experience coordinating technicians and managing workflow processes
  • Strong customer relationship and conflict-resolution skills Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move parts weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in warehouse and shop environments
  • May require standing, walking, bending, and climbing during daily operations
  • Occasional travel between locations may be required The compensation range for this position is $28.
00 - $33.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, qualifications, education, and business needs.
