Job Description

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Position Job Overview Are you a skilled, seasoned heavy equipment mechanic looking to take your career to a company you can retire with? Mohawk Valley Materials may be the place for you! We are looking to add to our growing our team! In this role, you will work with a variety of machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders etc. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of heavy equipment, ensuring they operate at peak performance. Mohawk Valley Materials, Inc., a federally certified women-owned small business headquartered in Rome, New York and working nationwide performing heavy and civil construction, site preparation, and land clearing services, is recruiting for Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic. We are looking for a proficient and highly motivated heavy equipment mechanic that will have the following skill set.
Job Duties:
  • Ability to diagnose problems and correct deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, drive train and mechanical systems.
  • Welding/Fabricating
  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts. Job Requirements
  • ASE Deisel Certification is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment/trucks
  • Knowledge of the various shop tools and equipment to complete the tasks in a timely manner.
  • Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering
  • Excellent Mechanical Aptitude
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good diagnostic skills a must
  • Must be able to work weekends and travel when needed.
  • Must be able to lift items over 60lbs
  • Attention to detail
  • Provide your own tools
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$25.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
