Job Description

Overview Our Lady of Consolation is a proud member of Catholic Health and a recognized leader in providing exceptional quality driven care. We offer Long Term, Post-Acute and Skilled Nursing services. Our Lady of Consolation is located on the beautiful Great South Bay and is comprised of a 345-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center. Our nurses, physicians and support staff are devoted to providing patient driven health care in an environment of compassion to our patients, their families and our community. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting building systems and equipment within the nursing home facility to ensure a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and facility equipment.
Job Details Key Responsibilities:
Must be able to complete light electrical and plumbing work. Knowledge of blueprints, hand tools, power tools and woodworking power tools required. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, infection control standards and nursing home polices. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and building systems. Monitor facility grounds and perform seasonal maintenance such as snow removal or salting when required. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Conduct preventive maintenance according to scheduled programs. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records and work orders. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations. Report safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements:
High School equivalent with shop courses required. Technical or vocational training in maintenance or mechanical systems preferred. Previous experience in healthcare, nursing home or industrial facilities preferred. Ability to lift, push and pull equipment and materials as needed. Basic computer skills. Posted Salary Range USD $27.17 - USD $41.80 /Hr. The pay for this position ranges from $27.17-$41.80 per hour. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
