Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Mobile Fleet Mechanic, where you will be the driving force behind maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently across multiple job sites. Your expertise will keep our operations moving smoothly, providing reliable service and top-notch maintenance for a wide range of machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment. Duties Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and electrical testing methods to identify root causes efficiently. Conduct repairs on transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and other vital components. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, soldering, power tools, hand tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure optimal performance. Maintain detailed service records including logs of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed to ensure compliance and accountability. Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, heavy lifting tasks, and assembly/disassembly of machinery components. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring equipment is returned to optimal working condition promptly. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and vehicle maintenance across industrial or farm settings. Dealership experience or background working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery highly preferred. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems, suspension components, and diesel engine repair. Skilled in reading schematics and using automotive diagnostics tools for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques and fabrication processes. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high attention to detail during repairs or inspections. $29.34 - $35.33 per hour
