Automotive Service Writer - Carlie's Auto & Tire Job Overview Carlie's Auto & Tire is looking for an experienced, customer‑focused Automotive Service Writer to join our front‑office team. This role is the heart of our shop — you'll be the first point of contact for customers, helping them understand their vehicle needs, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring every repair order is accurate and clear. We're a family‑oriented business that values honesty, communication, and long‑term growth. Responsibilities Greet customers and provide excellent service from check‑in to pick‑up Write and manage repair orders with accuracy and attention to detail Communicate clearly with technicians about diagnostics and recommended repairs Explain services, timelines, and estimates to customers in a friendly, professional way Order parts and track inventory as needed Maintain an organized front desk and ensure smooth daily workflow Handle phone calls, scheduling, and customer follow‑ups Required Experience & Skills Minimum 3 years of experience as an Automotive Service Writer Strong understanding of automotive systems and common repairs Excellent communication and customer‑service skills Ability to multitask in a busy shop environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Basic computer skills (repair order systems, scheduling, etc.) Valid driver's license Preferred (Not Required) Experience with estimating software (Mitchell, ALLDATA, etc.) Prior experience in a tire or general repair shop Ability to upsell services ethically and confidently Benefits 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of employment Competitive pay based on experience Supportive, family‑run work environment Steady hours and consistent customer flow About Us Carlie's Auto & Tire is a locally owned shop that values trust, communication, and quality service.
