Overview Grove Construction is seeking a skilled and energetic Mechanic with a strong background in trucking and heavy equipment maintenance to join our dynamic team. Lead the maintenance program for our heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, laser screed, power trowels, mud buggies. Coordinate logistics to deliver construction equipment and building materials to job sites. (If candidate has Class A CDL) Conduct routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and electrical system troubleshooting. Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspensions, and hydraulics of trucks and heavy machinery. Fabricate and modify equipment using hand tools, power tools and welding techniques as necessary. Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins to accurately diagnose issues related to automotive and construction equipment repair. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies; maintain detailed records of repairs performed. Experience Required - Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy-duty trucks and/or heavy construction equipment. Required - Experience driving F-350 or similar trucks with trailers. Preferred - Class A CDL with a good driving record. Preferred - Experience driving F-450, dump trucks or similar heavy-duty trucks with trailers. Experience working with construction equipment such as excavators or skid steers is essential. Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and power tools is essential. Knowledge of schematics and diagnostic equipment related to vehicle electrical systems, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, and suspension components. Concrete pouring and/or finishing or other construction experience greatly preferred. Ability speak, understand, read, and write in fluent English absolutely required. This role is based at our Winesburg/Berlin area company shop. Starting wage range is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience with a $1.00 per hour wage increase after successful completion of 60-day review. Candidates with a Class A CDL will get premium pay.
