Truck Cap & Accessories Installation Technician A Better Truck Cap & Hitch - 1.0 Parma, OH Job Details Full-time $18.00 - $29.81 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications Customer inquiry handling Full Job Description About the Role (Bring own tools) We're hiring a mechanically inclined truck accessories installer. You'll install truck caps, hitches, tonneau covers, running boards, racks, lighting, wiring, and other pickup truck accessories. Automotive experience is helpful, but strong tool skills, reliability, and pride in clean work matter most. The right person does not need to be a master mechanic, but they should be comfortable using tools, working around vehicles, following instructions, and taking pride in clean, professional installations. If you have experience working on cars, trucks, trailers, powersports equipment, farm equipment, construction equipment, or general mechanical projects, this could be a strong fit. What You'll Do Install truck caps, tonneau covers, bed covers, running boards, steps, ladder racks, cargo systems, hitches, wiring, lighting, and related accessories. Perform basic wiring and electrical connections for trailer lights, cap lights, brake controllers, and other accessories. Inspect parts and vehicles before installation to confirm fit, condition, and job requirements. Use hand tools, power tools, drills, torque tools, lifts, jacks, and other shop equipment safely and properly. Keep work areas, tools, and customer vehicles clean and organized. Follow installation instructions and shop procedures to complete jobs correctly the first time. Communicate with the shop manager or service team about job status, missing parts, fitment issues, or customer questions. Help receive, move, organize, and stage inventory as needed. Take pride in producing clean, professional work that customers can see and trust. What We're Looking For Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools. Experience with automotive, truck, trailer, equipment, or accessory installation preferred. Ability to read basic instructions, follow diagrams, and work through fitment issues. Basic 12-volt wiring experience is a plus. Hitch installation, trailer wiring, cap installation, tonneau cover, rack, or aftermarket accessory experience is a strong plus. Ability to lift, move, and position truck caps and accessories with assistance. Good attention to detail and pride in finished work. Reliable attendance and willingness to work as part of a small team. Valid driver's license preferred. You'll be working around pickup trucks, tools, parts, accessories, and customer vehicles. The work involves standing, lifting, bending, drilling, wiring, measuring, fitting parts, and working both independently and with other team members.
