Mechanic

NLS Asphalt, a Subsidiary of The National Lime and Stone Company, a multi-plant natural resource company, has a full-time union position available for an Experienced Mechanic. Successful applicants will have the following background and attributes:

Qualifications:

Ability to work Monday through Saturday (Sundays on occasion as needed.) High school diploma/GED Team player a must Attention to detail Enjoy working outdoors Skilled position dealing with the maintenance of all plant equipment and supporting equipment at an Asphalt plant site Analyzes malfunctions and repairs and rebuilds conveyors and crushing equipment. Works with plumbing and other functions of the plants Performs troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance activities Tasks may include but are not limited to motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines Experience welding broken parts and structural members and other items as necessary using stick welding processes and fabrication in the shop and in the field as needed Plans and performs regular maintenance and repair to small and large equipment, vehicles and heavy equipment including but not limited to, Skid Steers, Track Hoes, Loaders and vehicles Daily submission of electronic timecards and shift production reports as required by management. Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, chassis and power-train systems Able to enter data in computer for completion of work orders and parts usage Maintains computerized and written records relating to the care and maintenance of equipment. Must be able to perform mechanical and electrical repairs. Performs, plans and records maintenance operations. Diagnose and repair different sorts of diesel and gas equipment Maintains shop in good clean condition Current drivers' license (Class A or B CDL with HazMat is a Plus) Safety-Oriented Production-Oriented and Ability to multi-task
