Full Job Description Automotive Mechanic/Technician Position:
High School Diploma/GED Description Oil Pump LLC is looking for a highly skilled Automotive Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and service our client's vehicles including, but not limited to, mechanical repairs on most makes and models of automobiles, services, tires, oil changes, etc. Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills are required for this position. A successful Technician/Mechanic will work on a team, have a friendly and humble demeanor, excellent time-management skills, and operate with integrity. Our goal is not only maintaining vehicles for our customers, but to identify and repair problems with their vehicles to keep them up and running. This position offers bonus pay, paid time off, and paid ASE Certification(s). Oil Pump provides uniforms that you need for the job, as well as special tooling. The Technician will need to provide their own tools. Assistance for moving your toolbox will be provided if needed. The ideal candidate will operate with the highest level of integrity, use words like "yes ma'am and yes sir" when addressing our customers, provide knowledge for our team, work humbly with others, follow directives, and operate in a safe manner. The hourly wage posted is base pay, we offer performance incentive pay on top of that. Key Performance Objectives The Technician will follow safety procedures, ensuring that he/she is not conducting vehicle repairs in an unsafe manner or situation. The Technician must take the time to do a quality job. This includes leaving a clean workplace and ensuring that the right materials were used correctly. He/she must interact with customers with a friendly, humble, and grateful attitude. He/she will greet customers with a smile, utilizing courtesy words throughout communication (e.g. "please, yes ma'am, no sir, my pleasure,"etc.). The Technician must have excellent time-management skills He/she must be a self-motivated individual. He/she must meet and strive to exceed goals on the Technician Performance Scorecard Skills/Abilities Mechanic/Technician must have at least 5 years of professional mechanical experience. Strong diagnostic skills Strong electrical skills Knowledge of automobile maintenance & repair Strong communication skills Must be able and willing to learn new automotive maintenance skills and techniques
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to stand on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours.) Work in an environment that frequently experiences extreme hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes. Lift and move inventory items, trash cans and other work related items (up to 50 pounds). Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours. Must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the shift. Preferred Experience/Certification ASE, factory, or dealer certifications are preferred At least 3 years of electrical diagnostic experience
