About the Role We are seeking an experienced and reliable Truck/Equipment Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. In this hands-on role, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment essential to our operations. You will keep our semi-trucks, trailers, pickups, farm equipment, construction equipment, and plant machinery in safe, reliable condition to support uninterrupted production and harvest activities. This position is critical during the hazelnut harvest season, which requires weekend availability.
THE TRUCK/EQUIPMENT MECHANIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Maintenance & Repair
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on semi-trucks, semi-trailers, pickups, farm equipment, construction equipment, and plant processing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and service on brakes, engines, transmissions, suspension, tires, and other components.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime. Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in the shop and on job sites.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper lockout/tagout procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure all repairs meet DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Complete accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts documentation. Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with operations, production, and harvest teams to prioritize repairs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Assist with other facility maintenance tasks as needed. What You Bring
  • Minimum 2+ years of professional mechanic experience (heavy truck, diesel, or heavy equipment preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills across multiple types of equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance software and record keeping.
  • Willingness to work weekends during the hazelnut harvest season.
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented attitude. Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience with farm equipment, semi-trucks/trailers, or industrial plant machinery.
  • ASE certifications or equivalent technical training.
  • Familiarity with agricultural or food processing environments.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL FACTORS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Work in a shop environment as well as outdoors during harvest.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, and working in awkward positions.
  • Weekend work required during peak harvest season.
