This position performs skilled maintenance and repair work on vehicles and motorized equipment to ensure they remain safe and functional. Your dedicated efforts will support daily operations by keeping essential equipment in proper working condition. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:Vehicle Maintenance:
Inspect and repair cars, trucks, buses, vans, and other equipment using specialized toolsSystem Repairs:
Diagnose and service hydraulic, electrical, heating, cooling, and exhaust systems along with transmissionsPreventive Work:
Carry out scheduled maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and mechanical partsState Inspections:
Complete official safety and emissions inspections and prepare required documentationEquipment Diagnostics:
Identify mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment to choose correct repair methodsOperational Support:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. During orientation, work hours will be 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. This position requires the employee to be a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Certified Inspection Mechanic for the class of vehicle used in the agency.Other Requirements:
