Used Vehicle Technician / Experienced Automotive Mechanic Job Overview Koch Automotive Group is seeking a skilled and motivated
  • Used Vehicle Technician
  • to join our busy service and reconditioning team.
In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and prepare pre-owned vehicles for resale while ensuring each unit meets our standards for safety, reliability, drivability, and appearance. This position is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys working on a wide variety of makes and models, can efficiently identify needed repairs, and understands the importance of completing quality work in a fast-paced used vehicle environment. You will play a key role in helping our dealerships maintain a strong inventory of retail-ready vehicles for our customers.   • Perform used vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, safety, maintenance, and drivability concerns.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles from a variety of manufacturers, including both domestic and import brands.
  • Complete reconditioning repairs on trade-ins, auction vehicles, and pre-owned inventory.
  • Repair and maintain major vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, HVAC, and driveline components.
  • Perform Pennsylvania state inspections and emissions inspections as required.
  • Complete routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, filters, batteries, belts, hoses, brakes, and tires.
  • Use diagnostic scan tools, electrical testing equipment, schematics, and technical information to accurately troubleshoot vehicle concerns.
  • Perform alignments, ADAS-related repairs or calibrations, and other advanced repairs when needed.
  • Prioritize repairs efficiently to help move vehicles through the reconditioning process and onto the lot quickly.
  • Clearly document inspection findings, recommended repairs, and completed work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work closely with service advisors, used car managers, and parts personnel to support timely vehicle turnaround. Experience
  • Previous automotive technician or mechanic experience required.
  • Used vehicle reconditioning experience is highly preferred.
  • Dealership experience is a plus.
  • Experience working on multiple manufacturer and models is highly preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, including experience with scan tools, electrical systems, ECUs, and vehicle schematics.
  • Experience repairing gasoline engines required; diesel experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, engine performance, electrical systems, and general maintenance.
  • Familiarity with ADAS systems, alignment procedures, welding, or light auto body repair is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume shop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with service advisors and management regarding repair needs and timelines. What We Offer

  • Previous automotive technician experience required.
  • Used vehicle or reconditioning experience preferred.
  • Dealership experience a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Must have a clean and valid driver's license.
