Lead Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Supervisor Einfalt Recycling & Salvage Position Summary Einfalt Recycling & Salvage is seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Lead Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. This position is responsible for leading a team of full-time and part-time mechanics, ensuring all equipment is serviced safely and efficiently, and keeping our fleet operating at peak performance. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong mechanical knowledge, organizational skills, and experience managing maintenance operations. Key Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of full-time and part-time mechanics. Perform and oversee maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. Schedule and prioritize repair work to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain accurate service and repair records using the company's maintenance management software. Order parts, supplies, and materials as needed while managing inventory levels. Ensure mechanic schedules remain productive and work assignments are properly distributed. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Monitor shop cleanliness, safety, and organization. Work closely with management to identify fleet maintenance needs and equipment replacement recommendations. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in truck, trailer, heavy equipment, or fleet maintenance. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and welding is a plus. Ability to use maintenance management software and maintain accurate records. Strong organizational and communication skills. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop and outdoor environment.
