Overview Join our dynamic team as a Box/Straight Truck Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining our fleet of commercial vehicles - both gas and diesel experience required. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, delivering exceptional service and safety standards. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on box trucks and straight trucks to identify mechanical issues. Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems with precision. Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet repair specifications. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as tire service, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC system servicing. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during repairs or testing. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and service history in compliance with company standards. Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, and mechanical repair procedures. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques. Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large vehicles or equipment. Experience repairing farm machinery, industrial equipment, or heavy-duty trucks such as tractor-trailers is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
