Job Title:
Service Dispatch & Quick Lube Supervisor Position Summary The Service Dispatch & Quick Lube Supervisor is responsible for efficiently dispatching repair orders to technicians, managing workflow throughout the shop, and overseeing the performance and quality of work performed by oil change and maintenance technicians. This position ensures proper technician utilization, maintains productivity standards, verifies quality control, and supports a safe, organized, and customer-focused service operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Dispatching & Workflow Management Assign repair orders and maintenance services to technicians based on skill level, certifications, workload, and efficiency. Monitor shop workflow and adjust assignments to maximize productivity and minimize customer wait times. Coordinate with service advisors regarding vehicle status, priorities, and completion times. Track work-in-progress and ensure timely movement of vehicles through the service process. Balance technician workloads to maintain efficiency and profitability. Quick Lube Team Supervision Direct and oversee daily activities of oil change and express service technicians. Ensure maintenance services are completed according to manufacturer and dealership/shop standards. Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to quick lube personnel. Assist with technician development and advancement opportunities. Maintain staffing coverage and coordinate work schedules as needed. Quality Control Inspect completed maintenance and oil change services for accuracy and quality. Verify fluid levels, maintenance procedures, and multi-point inspections are completed correctly. Ensure all repair orders and inspection reports are properly documented. Identify and correct workmanship issues before vehicles are returned to customers. Follow up on customer concerns related to maintenance services. Safety & Compliance Enforce shop safety procedures and company policies. Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain compliance with environmental regulations regarding fluid handling and disposal. Promote a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Performance Management Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics. Assist management in evaluating technician performance. Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements. Support achievement of shop sales, customer satisfaction, and operational goals. Qualifications Automotive service experience required; supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair procedures. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proficiency with shop management and service dispatch software. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, and automotive fluids. Ability to operate vehicles and move throughout the service department safely. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Technician productivity and efficiency. Repair order cycle time. Quick lube throughput and completion rate. Quality control pass rate. Customer satisfaction scores. Reduction in comebacks and rework. Shop workflow efficiency and technician utilization.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
