Automotive Technician Ilderton Conversion Charleston North Charleston, SC Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance Bereavement leave Life insurance Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description The Automotive Mobility Technician at Ilderton Conversion of Charlotte will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of our fleet of Mobility Vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, electronics, and emerging technologies in the field of mobility. Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including mobility ramp services, full size lift services, and adaptive equipment services, to ensure safety and reliability. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems in vehicles, including engines, transmissions, onboard computers, sensors, and communication networks. Stay updated on certifications and updates through NMEDA, BraunAbility, VMI and various vendors for equipment installations. Conduct safety inspections and tests to ensure compliance with industry regulations and guidelines. Analyze vehicle data and diagnostic reports to identify performance issues and optimize vehicle performance. Interact with customers to discuss vehicle issues, explain repairs, and provide recommendations for maintenance and upgrades. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, services performed, and vehicle history for each vehicle in the fleet. Install mobility equipment to vehicles following standard procedures to ensure proper installation and quality.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in service technician role preferred. Experience with Mobility Vehicles is a plus but not necessary. Completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive technology. Strong understanding of automotive systems, electronics, and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of mobility equipment and adaptive driving solutions is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales or automotive technology is a plus.
