Job Description

Arconic is currently in search of Truck Mechanics to join our Rolled Products North America (RPNA) business unit in Alcoa, TN. Arconic's Tennessee Operations, is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet, and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years, and continues to thrive and grow. The Truck Mechanic will inspect, test, service, repair and rebuild internal combustion and direct current power vehicles used in material handling, maintenance operation, and personnel carrying. Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform complete rebuilds of components such as engines, transmissions, DC drive motors, and complete rebuilding of vehicles Inspect, test, service, and maintain vehicle components, such as wheels, tires, brakes, vehicle bodies, fuel systems, ignition systems, gear boxes, power trains, solid state components, hydraulic systems, and air conditioning systems Diagnostic troubleshooting which includes the use of electronic and mechanical test equipment Read, interpret, and use instruction and parts manuals, drawings, and other data as required Record and maintain necessary paperwork such as time and inventory records, hour meter readings, etc. Rebuild starters, generators torque hubs and drive motors Use equipment to weld, burn, cut and solder Repair and maintain shop equipment such as hydraulic lifts, tire presses, grease racks, steam cleaner, air compressor, etc. Fabricate hydraulic hoses and lines Service and maintain batteries Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition All other tasks and duties as assigned Basic Qualifications High school graduate or GED 1 year truck mechanic experience with a variety of areas including troubleshooting, servicing, rebuilding, and repairing Proficiency with basic computer applications Successful candidate must pass Arconic Truck Shop entrance test Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years truck mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment Completion of an approved apprentice program or technical training (ex.
ASE, OEM
