Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable service writer with mechanic abilities to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a seamless and positive experience while managing service requests and facilitating communication between customers and technicians. This role requires a blend of mechanical knowledge and exceptional customer service skills to effectively address customer needs and promote automotive services. This role also requires management of our own fleet. Duties Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their automotive service needs. Accurately document customer concerns and service requests, ensuring clear communication with the service technicians. Provide detailed explanations of services required, including oil changes, shocks, struts, and other automotive repairs. Manage cash handling procedures, including processing payments and maintaining accurate transaction records. Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition, enhancing overall customer satisfaction. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further questions or concerns. Maintain an organized workspace and ensure all documentation is completed accurately. Order and maintain inventory and parts needed for repairs. Managing our fleet of tow trucks. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and repairs. Experience with oil changes, shocks, struts, and general automotive service. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele. Familiarity with cash handling processes and basic accounting practices. Background in automotive sales or repair is a plus. Ability to upsell services while maintaining a focus on customer needs. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation.
