Role Description The Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Lebanon, TN, responsible for maintaining and repairing hydro excavation trucks, heavy equipment, and related machinery used in construction services. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues, completing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. The Mechanic will ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role also involves keeping accurate maintenance records, coordinating with operations staff to schedule service, and supporting field teams with equipment-related troubleshooting. The Mechanic may assist with ordering parts, maintaining shop organization, and contributing to continuous improvement of maintenance procedures. Qualifications Strong background in Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for commercial vehicles or heavy construction equipment. Hands-on experience with Maintenance & Repair of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and mechanical components. Knowledge of Heavy Equipment operation and systems, particularly trucks and machinery used in excavation or utility work. Proficient Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation. Relevant technical training or certification in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics (trade school or equivalent experience preferred). Basic computer skills for maintenance recordkeeping and parts ordering. Commitment to safety practices, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus. Previous experience in construction, utility services, or similar field environment is beneficial.
