Location:
McAllen, TX Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Service Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, committed to continuous learning, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced service environment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information. Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, and electrical components. Complete routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid replacements, and multi-point vehicle inspections. Accurately document repair procedures, inspection findings, and service recommendations in repair orders. Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle conditions, repair status, and additional work required. Follow manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and all safety regulations to ensure quality workmanship. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while properly handling tools, equipment, and materials. Participate in ongoing technical training and stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies and repair methods. Collaborate with team members to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction. Required Qualifications Proven experience diagnosing and repairing automotive vehicles in a dealership or independent repair shop. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engine performance, braking systems, suspension, electrical systems, and climate control. Experience using diagnostic scanners, repair software, and computerized service information systems. Basic computer skills for completing repair documentation and online training requirements. Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. Preferred Qualifications Completion of an Automotive Technology program or equivalent technical training. ASE certifications or manufacturer-specific certifications are preferred. Previous experience working with domestic vehicle brands is an advantage but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a shop environment for extended periods. Capable of lifting automotive parts, tools, and equipment as required. Comfortable working with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while following all workplace safety guidelines.
