General Motors (GM) Experienced Technician Chevrolet GMC of Clifton Dealership looking for Experienced Technician Job Functions & Requirements Candidate will be responsible for full Spectrum major mechanical & electrical repairs, performs full spectrum diagnosis, assists other technicians with difficult job Duties. Prior GM shop experience & training certification is a plus. Automotive repair or equivalent Experience required; we are willing to train the right candidate. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to multitask and SELF-manage.
Training requirement:
Manufacturer training completed with master certification in multiple areas. Can work with right candidate regarding training status. ASE Certifications are required for masters assessments. Candidate will be responsible for Engine, Transmission, Suspension Removal & Installation, Teardown & Diagnosis. Automotive Repair or Equivalent Experience; we are willing to train the right candidate. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to multitask and SELF-manage. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Technician with General Motors experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and a passion for automotive repair. This role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards and customer satisfaction. The technician will work on a variety of vehicles, including GM models, and will be responsible for performing both routine maintenance and complex repairs. Duties Conduct thorough automotive diagnostics to identify issues in vehicles. Perform repairs on various automotive systems including powertrain, electrical systems, and alignment. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks. Work with schematics to understand vehicle systems and components. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs clearly to clients. Maintain accurate records of services performed on each vehicle. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the shop. Assist with diesel engine repair and auto body repair as needed. Skills Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and techniques. Experience working with GM vehicles is preferred. Ability to read and interpret schematics related to vehicle systems. Proficiency in vehicle maintenance practices, including alignment and powertrain repairs. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about their vehicle needs.
