Job Description
If you're tired of being the only tech at a property doing everything for everyone with no support, no parts, and no respect — keep reading. Savoy Residential manages about 8,000 apartments across Texas. We're a long-term owner-operator — we don't flip properties, we invest in them. And that means we invest in maintenance the way most apartment companies won't. Our Central Operations team is a specialized group of high-caliber service technicians who work out of fully stocked company vehicles, traveling across our portfolio to handle work orders, preventative maintenance, and the kind of repairs that require real skill. You're not assigned to one property answering to a property manager. You get a work order queue, a truck, and the trust to go execute at the highest level. This is the role if you: Know HVAC inside and out — you can diagnose a bad TXV, swap a compressor, or troubleshoot a control board without calling for help Can handle appliances, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance just as confidently Like working independently — you don't need a supervisor on-site to stay productive Take pride in your work. When you close a ticket, it's done right. Period. Keep your truck organized. Your tools are clean. Your parts are accounted for. Notice things. If a water heater is about to fail or a breaker panel looks sketchy, you say something — even if nobody asked. What a typical day looks like: You start with your work order queue on your phone. Maybe it's three HVAC calls across two properties in the morning, a PM route after lunch, and an appliance swap in the afternoon. You drive your company truck, you pull from your stocked inventory, you diagnose it, fix it, document it, and move to the next one. If a resident is home, you're professional and courteous. If you finish early, you don't sit in a parking lot — you check your PM list or call dispatch for the next priority. Nobody micromanages you. Nobody has to.
What you need:
EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred) 3+ years hands-on experience in HVAC, appliances, plumbing, and electrical Valid TX driver's license, clean record The ability and desire to work independently Availability to work one weekend per month and take an on-call rotation (about one week per month) What you get: Company vehicle — fully stocked, fuel card included. No wear and tear on your personal truck. Real benefits. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k). We actually use them. Parts and tools. You'll have what you need. We don't make you beg for a capacitor or wait two weeks for a compressor. Manageable on-call. One weekend per month and one on-call rotation per month — shared across the team, not dumped on one person. The rest of the time, you go home at the end of the day. A team that respects the trade. Our leadership understands what it takes to do maintenance right. You won't be treated like a cost center — you'll be treated like the skilled professional you are. Growth. This role is a launchpad. Central Ops technicians have a clear path to become maintenance supervisors, and we promote from within. If you want to lead a team someday, this is where you prove it. Stability. We're a privately held, Texas-grown company. We're not a REIT cutting headcount every quarter. We've been growing for years and we're not slowing down. Why technicians stay atSavoy:
We get it. You've worked at the property where the manager doesn't understand what you do, the parts budget is a joke, and you're on call every weekend for $50 extra. That's not us. Yes, this role includes one weekend a month and a shared on-call rotation — but it's structured, it's fair, and it's split across a real team. You're not the only tech carrying the building on your back. We built Central Ops specifically because we believe maintenance professionals deserve a better structure — one where you're equipped, supported, trusted, and paid like the skilled tradesperson you are. We're long-term owners. We understand what it takes to maintain a property correctly, and we're building a team of people who care about that as much as we do.The logistics:
Full-time, Monday-Friday + one weekend per month + shared on-call rotation (approximately one week per month) DFW metro — you'll travel to properties across the portfolio from your company vehicle Competitive hourly pay based on experience and certifications Start date:Immediate Benefits:
