JOB SUMMARY
This position will perform a variety of routine service, repairs, and preventative maintenance work on heavy equipment, trucks and other vehicles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lubricates vehicles and equipment, Cleans vehicles and equipment, Inspects vehicles and equipment, Replaces filters, Dispenses oil, fuel, and water to field site equipment when needed, Will be responsible for the efficient and proper use of supplies, Recordkeeping on equipment serviced and time spent servicingequipment, Visual inspections of construction and transportation equipment andcreates written and oral reports on obvious repairs needed, Must be able to drive various types of equipment and/or operate construction and transportation equipment to facilitate servicing as needed, Must have a good working knowledge and know the function ofcomponents involved as a service truck technician, Will have knowledge of tools, traffic regulations, maintenance, andmechanical procedures, In addition to the above, the service truck technician will perform otherduties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
Two years full-time, paid experience servicing and lubricating heavyequipment, trucks, and construction vehicles is required Must possess a Class A CDL license with a HazMat endorsement. Atanker endorsement is a plus, but not required. Must be at least 25 years of age and pass a DOT drug and alcoholscreening, Must have an excellent driving record, Must hold a current DOT medical card.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have good physical strength and be able to routinely lift up to 35pounds, and on occasion, 50 pounds. Must be able to maneuver on uneven terrain that may be rocky, muddy,or wet, Will work in extreme heat and cold, as well as a variety of changingweather conditions, Position requires stooping, climbing, kneeling, crouching, twistingscooting, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, and bending, Must have good back and leg coordination and finger dexterity in bothhands. Must have good physical and mental stamina, and be focused, alert, anddetail-oriented, Must have a good sense of direction, Must be able to read, hear, and see.
SKILLS:
Able to use hand tools, Knowledge of general shop safety Be able to perform diagnostic checks on electrical systems, Will know DOT and CVSA rules and requirements, Have knowledge of cooling. ignition, electrical, fuel, hydraulic and brakesystems.
