In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting skilled mechanics who are passionate about vehicle repair and maintenance. Your expertise will help ensure our service department maintains the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to build a talented team dedicated to automotive excellence. Duties Lead the recruitment process by sourcing, screening, and interviewing qualified mechanic candidates with dealership experience. Assess candidates' technical skills in automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, brake repair, transmissions, suspension, and other mechanical systems. Verify candidates' familiarity with schematics, automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brake systems, and auto body repair. Coordinate with department managers to understand staffing needs and develop targeted hiring strategies. Ensure all new hires meet safety standards and possess necessary certifications such as welding, auto estimating, or GM vehicle experience. Maintain accurate records of applicant tracking, interview feedback, and onboarding documentation. Promote a positive candidate experience by providing clear communication throughout the hiring process. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with dealership or automotive service centers. Strong mechanical knowledge across vehicle maintenance, oil changes, wheel alignments, shocks & struts, tire service, and powertrain repairs. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics using schematics and diagnostic tools; familiarity with automotive electrical systems is essential. Experience working with diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, and auto body repairs is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. Knowledge of auto estimating software and customer service skills to enhance client interactions. Certification or training in ADAS technology or air brake systems is a plus.
