Key Responsibilities Diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of domestic and import vehicles. Inspect and repair brake systems, steering and suspension components, engine performance issues, and exhaust systems. Diagnose electrical and computer-controlled systems using scan tools and technical service information. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and state inspections. Complete repair orders accurately, documenting work performed, parts used, and additional recommendations. Communicate vehicle conditions and repair recommendations clearly with service advisors and customers. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all shop safety procedures. Collaborate with fellow technicians, apprentices, and front-office staff to meet quality and productivity goals. Qualifications At least 2 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician in an independent shop or dealership. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills involving engine, electrical, and drivability systems. Experience using scan tools, multimeters, vehicle lifts, tire machines, and other common shop equipment. ASE certifications (especially A1-A8) are a plus but not required. Own a basic set of automotive tools; specialty tools and larger equipment are provided by the shop. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work as part of a team. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
