Shop Lead (Truck Accessories & Coatings) Apex Truck Gear 130 Magic Oaks Dr, Spring, TX Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM This is not a helper position. This is a leadership role. Apex Truck Gear is looking for a Lead Technician to take ownership of our spray and install operations. If you've been the go-to guy in your shop—the one fixing problems, setting the pace, and making sure jobs are done right—this is built for you. We specialize in premium work truck builds, fleet upfitting, and high-performance coatings for demanding environments. Quality matters here. Speed matters too—but never at the expense of doing it right. Job Description

• Full execution of spray-on coatings (bedliners, polyurea/polyurethane systems)
• Surface prep standards — no shortcuts, no failures
• Installation of truck accessories
• Job flow in the shop — keeping production moving without sacrificing quality
• Mentoring and setting expectations for other techs
• Equipment readiness (spray systems, tools, materials)
• Final quality control before anything leaves the shop Who This Is For

• Strong experience with spray coatings OR high-level install work
• High mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Attention to detail under production pressure
• Valid driver's license Strong Plus
• Polyurea / high-pressure spray system experience
• Background with Line-X, Rhino, or similar systems
• 12V electrical / lighting installs
