Journeyman Mechanic - Fleet The Primary Responsibility of the Service Technician is to perform quality repairs on Company Equipment and make recommendations to Foreman of additional deficiencies found during inspection. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform maintenance activities according to the vehicle condition report. Change the oil and oil filter. Perform emergency repair 24-hours a day as qualified. Overhaul diesel engines assist with ability to learn. Perform major repairs on electrical systems, air condition systems, air systems, driveline fuel system, etc; assist Master Technician with the ability to learn. Receives repair work orders from Foreman. Performs work directed in repair work orders in a timely and thorough manner. Advises Foreman of any additional repairs required. Attend training sessions to obtain and maintain needed certifications required by FMCSA. Performs additional tasks, and repairs as required. Have manual dexterity. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work activities. Knowledge of all equipment utilized in a diesel engine repair shop. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical diesel operations. Working knowledge of mechanical systems. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to read and understand vehicle manuals. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools and other equipment safely
