Shop Manager Location:
Near Eagle Mountain, Utah Full-Time | Competitive Pay | Benefits Available About Us We are a growing contractor specializing in waterproofing, damp proofing, window wells, strip drains, foundation drainage systems, and related services. Our success depends on reliable equipment, safe operations, strong leadership, and great people. We're building a company culture based on accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and mutual respect. We believe people do their best work when they're surrounded by teammates who care about doing things the right way, take pride in their work, and help each other succeed. We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated Fleet & Equipment Maintenance Manager to take ownership of our fleet and equipment maintenance program. This is more than a mechanic position—we are looking for someone who can lead, organize, and build systems that keep our trucks, trailers, pumps, and equipment operating safely and efficiently. The right person won't just maintain equipment—they'll help strengthen the culture and standards that support our entire operation. Position Overview The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and managing the preventive maintenance of company vehicles, trailers, waterproofing pumps, and construction equipment. This individual must be organized, accountable, proactive, and capable of working professionally with foremen and field crews while holding them accountable for equipment care and maintenance requirements. This position requires someone who takes initiative, identifies problems before they become costly breakdowns, and creates a culture of equipment responsibility throughout the company. Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain company trucks, trailers, waterproofing pumps, generators, and construction equipment. Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. Maintain maintenance schedules, service records, and equipment documentation. Track equipment condition, service intervals, repairs, and replacement needs. Coordinate inspections, registrations, and compliance requirements. Respond to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs efficiently. Organize and manage inventory of parts, tools, fluids, and maintenance supplies. Work closely with foremen and field crews to ensure proper equipment care. Implement and manage an equipment certification and training program focused on equipment care, safe operation, and accountability. Hold crews accountable for reporting equipment issues and completing required inspections. Identify recurring problems and implement long-term solutions. Recommend equipment repairs, upgrades, and replacement plans. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Assist with budgeting and cost-control efforts related to fleet and equipment maintenance. Qualifications Strong mechanical experience with diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment. Experience maintaining trucks, trailers, pumps, hydraulic systems, and construction equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational issues. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively with management, foremen, and field personnel. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus but not required. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. What We're Looking For The right candidate is: Self-driven and highly motivated. Organized and detail-oriented. Professional and dependable. A strong leader who earns respect through accountability and consistency. Comfortable having difficult conversations when needed. Capable of building positive working relationships while maintaining high standards. Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do. Solutions-focused and proactive. Positive, forward-thinking, and team-oriented. We're looking for someone who can hold foremen and crews accountable while maintaining strong professional relationships. The ideal candidate understands that leadership isn't about creating conflict—it's about creating consistency, trust, and accountability. Technical skills are important, but attitude, character, and professionalism matter just as much. One person can have a significant impact on a team, and we're committed to building an environment where people support one another, communicate respectfully, and work together toward common goals. If you're the kind of person who enjoys building systems, solving problems, taking ownership, and helping create a great workplace, we'd love to talk with you. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience. Overtime opportunities. Company-provided tools and equipment (where applicable). Paid time off. Benefits package available. Long-term career growth opportunities. Opportunity to help build and shape a growing department and company. To Apply Please submit your resume, work history, and any relevant certifications or licenses. We are looking for someone who wants to build and lead a best-in-class maintenance program—not just fix equipment when it breaks. If you're ready to take ownership, build systems, make an impact, and be part of a team that's working hard to build something great, we'd love to hear from you!
