Automotive Technician Job Description Position Title:
Automotive Technician Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to providing quality service and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and suspension-related vehicle issues. Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks. Inspect vehicles and identify necessary repairs or maintenance recommendations. Repair and replace suspension components, steering systems, and related parts. Use diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately troubleshoot vehicle problems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members regarding repair needs and progress. Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and company standards. Test drive vehicles when necessary to verify repairs and diagnose concerns.
Qualifications:
Valid, unrestricted driver's license. Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive repair experience. Strong understanding of suspension systems and the ability to diagnose and repair suspension-related issues. Personal automotive tool set required. Working cell phone for communication and job-related updates. Ability to lift and carry over 50 pounds safely. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
ASE certifications are a plus. Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of multiple vehicle makes and models.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing more than 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
