  • $30 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Employee discount Opportunities for advancement Qualifications ASE Certification Customer communication Teamwork Equipment repair Driver's License Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description Position Summary The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic, engine repair, electrical repairs, and engine/transmission removal & replacements in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
This role supports overall shop operations by ensuring quality workmanship, customer safety, and timely service delivery. Technicians are expected to maintain a professional attitude, follow all company policies and safety procedures, and contribute to a team-oriented shop environment.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are representative of the responsibilities of this position. This list is not intended to be exhaustive and may be modified as operational needs change. Diagnostic
  • Diagnose engine issues including check engine lights, engine noises & leaks
  • Diagnose electrical issues for all vehicle systems Engine Repair
  • Remove and replace faulty engine parts including alternators, ac compressors, valve covers, water pumps etc
  • Engine timing belts and timing chains
  • Repair oil leaks and other general engine faults Electrical repair
  • Trace down broken wires and find electrical faults
  • Test and check sensors and modules for faults
  • Repair faulty wiring, sensors and replace modules when necessary Shop Operations & Safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and company safety procedures
  • Properly use and maintain tools, machines, and equipment
  • Dispose of hazardous materials according to regulations Customer & Team Interaction
  • Communicate professionally with service advisors and team members
  • Notify management of additional vehicle concerns or safety issues
  • Provide respectful and courteous service when interacting with customers
  • Support team members to ensure efficient workflow
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on feet for extended periods
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in an automotive repair shop
  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment, diagnostic and repair procedures, and basic shop equipment
  • ASE certifications or technical training (not required)
  • Work Environment This position operates in a shop environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicle lift systems, loud noise, exhaust fumes, and varying temperatures. Proper PPE (personal protective equipment) must be worn as required.
