Job Description
DescriptionAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will lead the newly established System Modeling and Simulations (SMS) team within the Fleet Remediation Engineering (FRE) organization. As the SMS Team Lead, you will establish, build, and operate a state-of-the-art simulation and testing lab in Seattle, WA, creating the technical infrastructure and organizational capabilities needed to validate every new electrical and mechanical data center product before it reaches a live facility. You will directly manage a team of up to 10 specialized engineers guiding them to deliver world-class simulation and hardware-in-the-loop validation work across AWS's rapidly expanding global data center fleet. - Partner with the FRE Technical Program Manager to manage project timelines, dependencies, and deliverable commitments for internal customers
- Develop and manage the SMS team's operating budget, including lab infrastructure, tooling, and headcount planning

- Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing concepts and principles, or hands-on experience with hardware validation methodologies in electrical or mechanical systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present complex technical findings to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications
